Hamel Wins at GSS!

Scott Hamel of Wisconsin Rapids took full advantage of a front row start to thoroughly enjoy 25 laps of green flag racing in the Super Stock Feature Friday night as he simply walked away from the field for an easy win. Ryan Hinner began on outside pole but quickly jammed up traffic behind him as Matt Ciesielski, Brian Weinfurter, Mike brooks and Galen Manternach all fought past to vie for 2nd. Brooks safely settled in at 2nd while a fray continued behind him between Weinfurter, Manternach and Michael Gwidt who comes off a Feature win from last week.

Fast Qualifier Greg Back and Colin Reffner both struggled with traffic, and were barely inside the top 10 when racing concluded. Reffner finished 7th, Bach 9th. Gwidt thrilled the capacity crowd with his 3rd place run and Weinfurter and Manternach ground and bashed their way to a hotly contested 4th and 5th. Reffner’s points lead on Gwidt is a mere 12 points, and Gwidt is looking strong at this moment as he contends for a championship.
