Colin Reffner Captures First Victory at GSS for 2009!

The Kwik Trip Super Stocks began the Features tonight with a familiar name on the front row; veteran Roger Peterson of Wisconsin Rapids returning to racing sat on the pole with Steve Severson of Endeavor alongside. The 25 lap event went green the whole way with Galen Manternach of Nekoosa taking the lead on lap 9.

Fast Timer Colin Reffner and Greg Back moved through the field briskly after being mired in traffic a few laps, and by the halfway point Reffner had made it to the top 5. Each position became more difficult to pass, but it began to look like the 3rd generation racing Reffner just might soon challenge for the lead. Indeed he did, because the final 2 laps of the race saw Reffner take to the inside and pass when Manternach inexplicably slowed, allowing both Reffner and Back to motor past to the checkers. Roger Peterson kept his ride in 4th, and Dean Burby’s top 5 was a welcome finish for the Westfiled driver.
