Randall Wilhorn Makes a Last Lap Pass to Win His Second Feature in a Row at MMS!

Thirteen D & D Amusement Games Super Stocks took to the field for the 20-lap Super Stock feature event. John Zuch battled off Matt Ciesielski for the race lead as he led the first six laps. Point leader Mike Gwidt edged by Zuch for the race lead on lap seven. Gwidt held that lead for several laps until 10 when Greg Back worked his #6 machine to the front. As Back and Gwidt battled for the lead, rookie of the year contender Randall Wilhorn worked his way past a very fast Mark Langreck and set his sights on the leaders. With three laps remaining, Wilhorn passed Gwidt for the runner up spot.

Once the drivers received the white flag, Wilhorn worked his way to the inside of Greg Back. As the two drivers exited turn 2, Wilhorn and Back got together slightly giving the advantage to Wilhorn as the two drivers powered their way down the backstretch. With Wilhorn crossing the finish line first, Mike Gwidt was able to work his way to the inside of Back and edge his way to the runner up spot. With Greg Back finishing third, Mark Langreck and Erin Schlough finished 4th and 5th respectively.

Randall Wilhorn Captures His First Feature Win in a CWSSA Super Stock at MMS!

The D & D Amusement Games Super Stocks put on another great show for the Marshfield Motor Speedway faithful. Marv Flick and Ryan Hinner led the field to the green flag. Ryan Hinner quickly grabbed the lead away from Flick and built a 5-car length lead. Randall Wilhorn got a great starting spot with engine issues in qualifying and getting the third starting spot. Wilhorn worked his way to the backside of the Hinner machine by lap five, he then grabbed the lead away one lap later. Greg Back, racing the Matt Raykowski car, grabbed second away from Hinner at the halfway point of the race.

With Wilhorn enjoying a large lead, point leader Mike Gwidt was working his way through the field. Gwidt made his way past Brian Weinfurter on lap 12 to earn the third position. Gwidt and Greg Back battled side-by-side for four laps with Back finally giving way to a very fast Gwidt for the runner up spot. It was evident that the hard work that the Wilhorn crew did all week, to prepare their car that had engine issues, was going to pay off. Randall Wilhorn cruised to an easy win with Mike Gwidt and Greg Back finishing second and third respectively. Greenwood’s Erin Schlough and Marshfield’s Mark Langreck rounded out the top five.

Gwidt turned the fastest lap of the day to earn the fast time award. Heat winners were Randall Wilhorn and Erin Schlough with Mark Langreck coming home first in the Dash 4 Cash.

Mike Gwidt Streaks to Victory for Yet Another Feature Win in 2010 at MMS!

In a tightly contested point battle in the D & D Amusement Games Super Stocks, Mike Gwidt, Erin Schlough, and Randall Wilhorn were all looking to find a way to gain the advantage on the other. Wilhorn, who earlier in the evening captured fast time, had his work cut out, as he had to come from the rear of the field. As Aaron Anderson led the field to the green flag, it was sure to be an exciting feature with some of the top drivers in the state competing. Terry Knupp worked his way to the front and led the first three laps. However, it didn’t take Mike Gwidt long to work his way through the field.

Gwidt, raced his way to first by lap 4. While Gwidt cruised out front, it was exciting for the fans to watch the young Wilhorn work his way through the field. Wilhorn and Schlough worked their way to the second and third positions respectively. Trying to run down a very fast Gwidt was nearly impossible tonight. The Wausau, WI driver of Gwidt, cruised to an 8-car length win with Wilhorn and Erin Schlough running second and third. Last week’s feature winner Brian Weinfurter came home in fourth with Dash 4 Cash point leader Mark Langreck finishing fifth.

Scott Luck and Brian Weinfurter Grab Feature Wins in Unusual Double Feature at MMS!

The D & D Amusement Games Super Stocks took to the track in their first feature event of the evening. Terry Knupp grabbed the early lead with heavy pressure from Scott Luck. Luck was able to get by Knupp on lap four bringing Erin Schlough with him. With Luck and Schlough running first & second, there was a good battle for third brewing. Randall Wilhorn and Mike Gwidt race each other clean with Gwidt holding the advantage and remaining in the third position. Gwidt started closing the gap between he and Erin Schlough. With Scott Luck out front and no apparent pressure, the race was between Schlough and Gwidt. As the two drivers exited turn two on the final lap, Gwidt and Schlough made contact sending Schlough up the track. At the finish line, it was all Scott Luck, pocketing his first feature win at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Gwidt finished second with Randall Wilhorn, Erin Schlough, and Mark Langreck rounding out the top five.

Claire Decker held the point in feature number two with Marv Flick running a close second. Decker held the lead for five laps, that was when Brian Weinfurter decided it was his turn to lead the race. Two laps later, Erin Schlough moved past Decker for the runner up spot. Working his way to the third position was fast timer Mike Gwidt. Gwidt closed the gap on Weinfurter and was looking inside for the pass on lap-16. Weinfurter was able to slam the door on Gwidt keeping him in his rear view mirror. In the end, it was Brian Weinfurter scoring the win with Gwidt, Randall Wilhorn, Erin Schlough, and Scott Luck your top five pointer getters.
