FAIRCHILD, WI, JULY 11, 2011 – Ryan Hinner has a knack of getting around the half mile paved oval of Marshfield Motor Speedway.  The youngster from Stevens Point, Wisconsin has powered his #23 CWSSA Super Stock to five consecutive feature wins.  The one feature that he did not win was the opener and he left the track during a rain delay thinking the program was a scratch for the night.  Much to the delite of Hinner leaving the premise, young Bryan Langreck pocketed the feature win that particular night.

With a few more super stocks participating in the division in recent weeks, track promoter Wayne Brevik has decided it was time to put a bounty on the young hot shoe of Ryan Hinner. “It’s really cool to see Ryan win because he shows great respect to others and demonstrates the kind of character that we want to see in young men today”, stated Brevik. Brevik further stated, “I am pretty sure Ryan will be up for the challenge, so I’ve decided to put $100 bounty on Ryan.”  With this, any driver coming into Marshfield Motor Speedway and beating Hinner, with Hinner completing all laps in the feature event, they will earn an extra $100 to what already is an impressive payout!

Hinner holds an impressive 70 point lead over Bryan Langreck for the Super Stock Championship at Marshfield Motor Speedway.

FEBRUARY NOTES:

Meeting was called to order at 7:12pm by Matt Raykowski.

It was determined that the drivers that qualified for the points fund for the 2010 season will be paid out.

SPS had a rule meeting.  They requested to have drivers e-mail addresses so they can e-mail them directly.  They will be getting a new website, so the rules are not posted as of yet.  They are going to have 40 pit slabs at $125 for the season, and need to be paid for by May 1st.  Late Models will have choice of slabs first and what is left over Super Stocks will have choice.  They are going to be pouring a slab for the Super Stocks to use for set up purposes.  The only time that you will not be able to use your slab is when the ASA race is going on.  They get first choice and if it is left over then you get a slab.  They are going to have open practice and safety check on May 19th and it will cost $15 to get in.  Tuesdays will be practice night from 4-8pm and will be free to get in, otherwise it is $125 an hour to rent the track any other days.  You need to race 7 of the 9 races to be eligiable for the points fund.  They also talked about the possible use of transponders and they will be rented of for $10-$15 a night.  You do have the option of purchasing your own transponder if you wish.  Brian Stroik will be the Tech Inspector.  SPS will be selling seatbelts from RCR to upgrade the safety of the cars they have about 75-80 of them and will be sold at a reasonable cost.

Matt talked to Wayne Brevak about matching the pay out of the other tracks.  Details will be determined at a later date for Marshfield Motor Speedway.

There will be no changes to the Golden Sands schedule.

Matt is going to bring the control arms to look at the next meeting for all the members to look at.  They will be voted on at a later date.

It was found that the price of the crate motor was $3295 for the 604 motor, 350 hp, with aluminum intake and the vortex heads from Lefthander.  There will be a possibability of adding extra weight to the front of the cars that are using these motors if they would be allowed.  Also need to figure out who will be rebuilding these motors.  Will be having a board meeting on Feburary 22nd at 7pm to discuss details of the motors at Pete’s Sports Bar in Stevens Point.

It was talked about purchasing 3 bikes for the kids night races at each of the tracks and was voted on 14-0.

Will be looking into getting a raffle license to hold a raffle for 2/3 of the season also need to find out what to use for prizes. Maybe have companies donate items, or get items at a discounted rate.

Club president Matt Raykowski called meeting to order at 7:10 pm.

There were 11 members present at November meeting.  Due to computer malfunction not all members received e-mail notice of meeting.  Members present agreed to postpone nominations and election of officers until December meeting.

Marshfield Motor Speedway (MMS) paid CWSSA $5 per car for 2010 point fund.

Golden Sands Speedway (GSS) did not pay CWSSA any money for point fund.  GSS did not sign contract with CWSSA for 2010 season.  GSS schedule for 2011 has been set and the CWSSA cars are listed for 10 race nights in 2011.

12 drivers qualified per CWSSA rules to receive 2010 point fund money.

President discussed the 2011 season schedule with Ron Wimmer of State Park Speedway, (SPS).  SPS would like the CWSSA cars to race every event during the 2011 season.  SPS will have 10 race nights, every other Thursday night except 2 weeks in a row around July 4, 2011.  SPS would like a minimum CWSSA car count of 12 cars, and will pay approx $250.00 to win when 12 or more cars race.  SPS will drop the ASA sportsman class, those drivers could race with CWSSA or with pure stock class.  SPS is willing to maintain a track point fund for CWSSA class, but not contribute to CWSSA club point fund.  SPS will allow CWSSA to use  it’s rules, will post CWSSA rules on the SPS website, and wants to hire the tech inspectors used by the club at other tracks.  SPS asked for a commitment from CWSSA to race at every event in 2011 season.  A show of hands proved overwhelming willingness to have CWSSA at SPS every event.  One member suggested asking SPS to add link to CWSSA website on SPS website.

Next order of business was nomination and election of officers for 2011 season. Newly elected positions are:

Members further discussed point fund issues.  Do we want or need a point fund? Can we ask tracks to simply pay more instead of contributing to point fund?  If we don’t have a point fund, why pay dues to be a member?  Use dues money for website?

President stated our next meeting will be Tuesday night, January 11, 2011 at 7:00 pm, at Pete’s Sports Bar, Stevens Point.

Due to a problem with sending out email communication to members for the November meeting, we have decided to move all voting for club issues to the December meeting in an effort to have everyone get the opportunity to voice their opinion.  The 2010 racing season has come to a close, and its time to look to 2011.  That begins with the election of officers for the club, which will be the first order of business, Tuesday December 14th.  We will also be discussing what is happening with the 2010 CWSSA Point Fund, ideas and direction for the club and the 2011 Point Fund, discussing any ideas for possible rule changes in 2011, participating tracks for the club in 2011, and any other issues of concern for the members.  Please take advantage of the opportunity to shape the direction of this division of racing to keep it the most exciting racing to watch!  Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving, and we hope to see you all in December.
